Can the Employer train and certify their own Employees?

Yes, self-training is acceptable provided that all training requirements of §172.704 are met.

Who certifies that an instructor is qualified to train, test, and certify?

The U.S. DOT does not review or certify training programs for pre-approval purposes. The employer must determine a trainer’s qualifications based on the employer’s needs.

Can we use you as our complete hazmat training solution?

Yes. Our system is designed to satisfy the requirements of 49 CFR 172.704 by providing general and function-specific training materials, assessments, certificates, and recordkeeping. For multimodal certification, we offer IATA (air) IMDG (ocean) training in addition to Non-bulk packaging.
